Angophora Park, located in the outer Sarina area, is named after Angophora (An-GOH-for-uh), a genus of native Australian trees.
The name comes from two Greek words:
Angeio – “vessel” or “goblet”
Phora – “to bear” or “to carry”
Together they mean “The Vessel Bearer”, a reference to the goblet‑shaped seed capsules of the Angophora tree representing abundance.
